Remember when smoking was good for you? Well it felt good but it was never good for you. Some days I really miss it, so I decided to paint some cigarettes and make the print into a scarf so I could wear them instead.
Cigarettes as a motif were iconic during the 40s and 50s and were often printed on dresses with a box of matches. Film Noirs were big too and there is just so much that made me fall head over heels for that genre - the hair, the shoes, the clothes and the sassiness. These are just some of the reasons why I made this scarf.
This scarf is 100% designed by and hand sewn by me. It is made locally in Ballarat Australia. As it is handmade there may be very slight inconsistencies but that is because I am a single maker and it is not made in a factory.
It is made from lightweight 100% Silk Twill.
